Veterans in community
Our Story

Born from Service. Built for Veterans.

Housing 4 Vets Inc. was founded on a simple conviction: no veteran who served our country should be left without a safe place to call home.

Our Founding

How Housing 4 Vets Was Started

Housing 4 Vets Inc. was born from Donald Askew Jr.'s personal experience as an Iraq War veteran and his belief that serving veterans should not end when they take off the uniform. After seeing the challenges that veterans can face after military service — including homelessness, housing instability, and difficulty accessing resources — Donald decided to create an organization focused on providing practical solutions.

The vision was simple: no veteran who served our country should be left without a safe place to call home.

Donald founded Housing 4 Vets to create a veteran-centered organization that goes beyond housing. The goal is to connect veterans with safe housing, supportive services, employment and career opportunities, transportation, community resources, and a pathway toward long-term stability. His own military experience gives the organization a perspective rooted in understanding the sacrifices and challenges veterans face.

Housing 4 Vets has since developed its vision around expanding veteran housing and supportive programs, beginning in Tennessee and building toward a broader national impact.

Where We Work

Starting in Tennessee, Building Nationally

Housing 4 Vets began its work in Tennessee, where the need for veteran housing and supportive services is real and urgent. Our vision extends beyond state lines — we are building a model of veteran-centered support that can grow to serve veterans across the country. Every veteran housed, every career launched, every family stabilized brings us closer to that national vision.
